Prineville, OR – Pendleton, OR

Today’s highlights: Oregon countryside.

We woke up this morning and had our first non-continental breakfast in quite a while, which was a nice change from the usual. Then we hit the road. We went East on 26. We didn’t really have any specific destination today except to put on some miles, so we took our time and enjoyed the Oregon countryside. We went up 395 North which led us over six 4,000+ foot summits. The roads were excellent and the curves were enjoyable without slowing us down too much. At one point two deer were in the road and ran infront of us, but luckily we were able to slow down enough to avoid them. So far we have seen about 10 deer on this trip. They are so neat (as long as they don’t run into us or we run into them). We made good time and were able to have a nice dinner and go for a refreshing swim.
