Grants Pass, OR – Prineville, OR

Today’s highlights: Rogue Gorge and Crater Lake National Park.

Our headlight has been out for a few days now, so the first stop we had to make today was in Medford, OR at a BMW dealer. So we drove South on 5 and found the place. Everyone who worked there was super nice and had our bulb fixed in a half hour. Also, my gloves have deteriorated over the past week, so I picked up a new pair while we were there. Then we hopped on 62 North. The guy who fixed our headlight told us to check out Rogue Gorge on our way to Crater Lake. I’m glad he told us about it because we would have just driven past it, but it was pretty cool. Then we stopped at Beckie’s restaurant right next to Rogue Gorge for lunch (also recommended by the BMW dealer). After lunch we eventually made our way to Crater Lake National Park. It was so neat! It was formed around 7,700 years ago by the collapse of the volcano Mount Mazama. It was also pretty cold (it got down to 48 degrees). After stopping a few times to take some pictures we hopped onto 138 East which took us to 97 North. Then we took 126 East to Prineville, OR where we’re staying the night.
